Beyond Expectations

You can stay in the box.

Or do something that shocks.
Change the world and change thought.
Tick, tock, tick, tock, goes the school bell clock.
All day going by an expectation.
Afraid of being shunned.
Locked in what seems to be a cage.
Locking up all the rage.
Thoughts in your head come out.
"That's beyond expectations!" Sombody shouts.
You shut your mouth and put your head down.
While your teacher gives you a big frown.
"This is not a piece of pie."
That is not a lie.
There is a glow in your eyes, fire.
Some say that you are a liar.
Going beyond expectations takes courage.
Things that leave you on the edge.
Ignoring all superstition.
You go beyond expectation.

Penned by my hand on the 17th of Slyphian, in the year 134 MA.
