To my Morning Cloak

Lying by the waterfall,
with flowers in my hair
Orchids kissed by bright sunlight
their perfume fills the air.

Dreaming that you'll hold me tight,
like you used to do
my mind drifting far away
to pleasant thoughts of you

Love so pure, it has no match
none have loved like this.
Pure, untouched, as falling snow
unmeasured by your kiss.

Showered with my memories
of when our love was new.
I oepn my eyes and suddenly
nowhere do I find you

It all comes rushing back to me
betrayal, heartache, and pain.
Consumed now by my loneliness,
I spoke it all in vain.

How can you even look at me?
or possibly forgive?
How can I ever look at you?
Why should I want to live?

Oh, that I could make it right!
That you'd find it in your heart!
A second chance to prove to you
that we're *not* better off apart!

Where you left I wait for you
a lifetime if need be
I pray you will come back this way
and find me out to sea.

Lying by the waterfall,
with flowers in my hair.
Orchids kissed by bright sunlight
their perfume fills the air.

Penned by my hand on the 25th of Severin, in the year 134 MA.
