Aetolia’s 25th Birthday Quest

For years, plenty of us took our very first steps in Aetolia by climbing out of a tunnel on Slaver’s Isle, right behind Ghantia and Svisle. For Aetolia’s 25th birthday, it’s your turn to be the one who knows the way.

Though the Slaver’s Isle tour will very soon be a thing of the past, boats still wash up now and then near Esterport with fresh escapees. Throughout the month of October, Ghantia waits in a rocky cove to meet them (v3415, in the Eastern Wilderness). Go and GREET GHANTIA to take one of these fresh-faced novices under your wing.

You’ll describe the escapee you’re looking for, give them a name, and spend the month turning them into a fully fledged adventurer with the APPRENTICE command:

– You can train your apprentice once per day (APPRENTICE TRAIN) to raise one of their three stats.
– Take them out into the newbie areas to fight denizens of their own, and level them up from 5 to 30.
– Work through 24 apprentice tasks across the Academy’s four strands, then take them back to Ghantia to graduate.
– Spar against Ghantia’s other escapees or other mentors’ apprentices, then closer to the end of the month, pit your fully-fledged apprentice in a tournament against other apprentices – details on that later in the month.

Should you successfully raise your apprentice into a fully-fledged adventurer before the end of the month, then your reward is that every Aetolian year on your character’s birthday, they’ll send you a letter containing a small gift. It could be a flower, a trinket, some gold, or even more valuable goods like chocolates!

It doesn’t matter when you start. Every day of the event counts, and missed lessons can be made up later with a gold fee, so a latecomer can finish with the same apprentice as someone who started on day one.
