9.4.5 Weaponry

Weaponry is a skill that everyone acquires, allowing anyone to utilise a weapon for their own needs. It covers basic attacks and uses with a weapon for every day use.

This help file talks more about how weapons work within Aetolia when you attack with one, as opposed to weapon stats and classes (see HELP WEAPONS).

General Information
-------------------
 - All weapons are subject to the aura of rebounding.
 - They will utilise your strength (brute-sourcing) to scale your damage.
 - They are generally considered melee attacks, and can be dodged as such.
 - All weapons have a base accuracy of 100%.

There are also some additional factors that will further alter aspects of your weapon.

These are:
----------
 * Proficiency
 * Blunt vs Edged
 * Throwing

Proficiency:
If you are not proficient in the weapon you are attempting to use, the effective stats of the weapon will be cut in half. You can check PROFICIENCIES to see what you're proficient in. Some classes gain proficiency in certain weapons by default.

Blunt vs Edged:
Blunt weapons are either part of the bludgeon class or deal blunt-type damage. Weapons that not blunt will have their trauma output halved.

Edged weapons are part of the blade class or deal cutting-type damage. They will deal bleeding based upon the amount of damage you deal, roughly about 3%.

Bludgeon-classed weapons can never be considered edged, and vise versa for blade-classed weapons.

Throwing:
For the basic THROW attack, that weapon will utilise your dexterity instead of your strength for damage scaling purposes, and is considered a ranged attack. A thrown weapon is also not subject to the aura of rebounding, allowing you to bypass it.

Thrown weapons begin at 50% accuracy until you learn Bullseye in Weaponry.
