9.5.1.31 Glamours
Once an honourable designation of Fae, the sylvans of old were known as universal servants of the other courts. Brutish warriors stationed at the edges of the plane, the sylvans traipsed the Prime and Dendara alike in service of its enigmatic will, heeding the omens of Her dreams and nightmares both. Though the sylvans of the modern era hold no actual relation to these venerable soldiers of Life, they honour the old ways nonetheless in their service to the courts of the soliad, asrai, and Titania's own through special modifications to their sacred geas. As an anointed successor of the sylvan duty, a modern Sylvan of Sapience holds the authority to utilise magic otherwise reserved for the Fae, including the archaic pact magic that enforces noble court structure - an ancient practice that employs elemental spirit to create binding magical agreements. The inextricable link between blood and spirit is a cornerstone of the practice, for it is there that the sylvan oath sustains itself, its enchantments fueled by a constant need for bloodshed. By offering the magic inherent in their blood unto the oath, a sylvan can manifest allies, curse foes, and even bestow harmful geas upon their hated prey or contract others into the service of Dia'ruis. In addition to this, the old sylvan court structure and the magic that sustained it remain as an enshrined practice in Glamours, enforcing the noble and inscrutable decorum of the Fae in a manner that divorces sylvans from mortal commonality.
