9.5.1.29 Extirpation
Sworn to the plane of Dia'ruis by way of an enchanted oath, Sylvans employ a triune of powers to fulfil the terms of the contract writ upon their very blood, penned there in the virid fire of their constituent spirit. To achieve their goals of vengeance on behalf of She Who is Life, the contract bestows a savage aspect upon the newly-wrought sylvan, arming them with claws and elongated fangs, making of them a deadly predator meant to hunt the undead and others who flee Death's purview. Given access to the unlimited fury of Dia'ruis, the sylvan express the plane's rage in their animalistic combat style, Extirpation, first and foremost. The style employs brutal blows and deceptive feints to conquer their prey upon sacred wildhunts, and myriad defensive and transfiguration techniques that make them consistently versatile foes. Those skilled in its employ are inexorable avengers who exact a brutal toll shirked far too long, possessed of a bloodlust divorced from themselves and yet felt soul deep regardless of that fact. Folklore records tell of Fae rampages in ancient eras, depicting them as unstoppable predators capable of shrugging off shattered bones and potent magic in unstoppable pursuit of those unfortunate enough to rouse their ire, and those who take up the sylvan oath exist as living proof of these terrible times. The most monstrous aspects of the sylvan transformation are classified under the arts of Extirpation, and its practice entails some of the most dread activities of their duty. Sylvans gain agency that most souls could not fathom possessing, allowing them to shed their physical form and wander the land as a free-roaming soul, with the promise of reforming their bodies from raw life magic granted by the lirathyar itself.
