Agricultural Skills
Farming is the ability to keep a field that can be utilized to grow crops, trees or keep animals. Outside of raw materials being able to be sent to a city for commodity production, the produce that is harvested or acquired on a field can be sold to various trades.

DescriptionSyntax: FIELD MAP or MAP
This simple command will show you a view of your farm, showing various structures and your crops, providing you stand within your farm of course.

Name
DescriptionSyntax: FIELD NAME <name>
Make your farm really stand out and personalize it with a name! Your farm's name has to be unique, and there is a 10,000 gold fee associated with changing its name.

DescriptionSyntax: FIELD ALLIES
FIELD ALLY <person>
FIELD UNALLY <person>You can now assign other people as allied farmhands, granting them permission to do fieldwork upon your farm. This setting must be set for each farm you own.

Storage

FIELD RETRIEVE <item>
FIELD STORAGEStore farming tools and other related objects to your profession within your shed. You can store hoes, seed sacks, scythes, axes, fertilizer, and bundled goods.

Shed
DescriptionSyntax: FIELD ERECT SHED
FIELD DEMOLISH SHEDAfter purchasing a flat box of shed supplies, you can return to your farm and erect it on your field. A storage shed is the base requirement for farming, as it'll be your central point for many things.
NOTE: Only one shed can be erected per farm and it must be against the northern fence.

Uproot
DescriptionSyntax: FIELD UPROOT
Wielding a shovel, you can dig out any crop or plant from the soil, roots and all. This will give you the space to plant something new or erect an object.

Till
DescriptionSyntax: FIELD TILL
With your trusty hoe in hand, you can prepare the field for crops by tilling the soil. You won't be able to plant any seeds until the ground is properly ready.

Plant
DescriptionSyntax: FIELD PLANT <seed type>
FIELD INSPECTOn a freshly tilled field, you can plant seeds to begin their growth into harvestable crops. Keep in mind the growth time, if a trellis is required, and the seasons when planting seeds. Some crops cannot grow in certain seasons and they take varying amounts of time to grow.
Once planted, you can inspect the crop to see various bits of information on its growth.

Harvest
DescriptionSyntax: FIELD HARVEST
Grab yourself a small hand scythe and get to harvesting! You won't be able to harvest your crop until it has reached maturity, so keep a close eye on your sproutlings.

Scarecrow
DescriptionSyntax: FIELD STAKE SCARECROW
FIELD REMOVE SCARECROWYou can buy a scarecrow to plant on your field in the hope that it will scare away any birds that attempt to peck at your seedlings and crops. Without there is a small chance your plants will individually disappear each in game week.

Production
DescriptionSyntax: FIELD BUNDLE <amount> <item>
FIELD SHIP <item> TO <city>Using a piece of rope, you can bundle together raw material for shipment to a city in order to be turned into commodities. You can bundle together cotton, hemp, cowhide, or wheat and will require a minimum of thirty to make a full bundle. You can bundle up to a maximum of ninety. Tree trunks can also be shipped, but do not need to be bundled.
You must store the bundles and tree trunks in your shed's storage. Once this is done, you can then choose to ship a specified item from your shed's storage to a city of your choice. This will transfer your item to be delivered upon the next scheduled caravan delivery.

Watering
DescriptionSyntax: FIELD WATER
FILL <bucket> FROM WATERWith a filled bucket of water in hand, you can water your crops to ensure they stay hydrated and don't simply wither away under the harsh light of the sun. Refilling your bucket will require a water source, such as a well.

Well
DescriptionSyntax: FIELD ERECT WELL
FIELD DEMOLISH WELLConstruct yourself a well to fill water from, providing you have a shovel to do so.

Vegetable

Trellis
DescriptionSyntax: FIELD STAKE TRELLIS
FIELD REMOVE TRELLISOnce your ground is tilled, you can setup a trellis' for the crops that require it. You'll need to purchase a trellis before hand however.

Arborist
DescriptionSyntax: FIELD PLANT PINE
FIELD LOGGINGYou can now plant a pine cone which will eventually grow into a pine tree. It can then be logged with an axe, and the trunk shipped off to production to be turned into wood.
Pine trees cannot be planted along the edges of the farmland, and cannot have anything else planted next to them. However, they take only a season to reach maturity and can be grown in three seasons of the year.

Shepherd
DescriptionSyntax: FIELD RELEASE <lamb>
FIELD CARE <animal>
FIELD SHEAR <sheep>After purchasing a lamb and releasing it on your farm, it will explore the field and come under your care. Caring for it weekly will raise its happiness, where as neglecting it will eventually cause it to become unhappy and can die from neglect.
Once happy enough, it will grow into a sheep. You can then shear the sheep every five weeks for a few tufts of wool. If the sheep is particularly happy, you can get extra wool from it. Wool can be utilized by tailors to add insulation to clothing which will better protect you from the cold.
NOTE: You may only have one animal per six tiles of grass.

Watersprite
DescriptionSyntax: FIELD SUMMON WATERSPRITE
Call upon nature to gift you with a water sprite, providing you supply the correct payment to do so. The water sprite will take care of your field and water your plants automatically for five in game weeks, allowing you get on with other tasks. It costs 100 gold to summon one and must be done from a well.

Tender
DescriptionSyntax: FIELD RELEASE <chick>
FIELD CARE <animal>
FIELD COAX <chicken>Once purchasing a baby chick, you can then release it upon the farm and begin tending to its needs for the potential of eggs. You can care for it weekly, and if it is neglected for too long it will grow unhappy and can eventually die.
Once happy enough, chicks will eventually grow into chickens, who can be coaxed to lay eggs around your farm once every five weeks. Particularly happy chickens can sometimes lay two eggs instead of one.
NOTE: You may only have one animal per six tiles of grass.

Fruit

Ledger
DescriptionSyntax: FIELD CARE LIST
PATH TRACK <vnum>Your long hours on the farm have left you with a mental ledger that you can now, at a glance, tell which animals on your farm need caring for as well as where they are on the land.

Rancher
DescriptionSyntax: FIELD RELEASE <calf>
FIELD CARE <animal>
FIELD MILK <cow>After purchasing a calf, you can carry it to your farm and release it within the plot to graze. They can receive weekly care, however if left neglected they will eventually grow unhappy and if it goes on for too long, may die.
A calf, once happy enough, will grow into a cow. Once it has reached adulthood, it can be milked every six weeks. Particularly happy cows can be milked every three weeks.
NOTE: You may only have one animal per six tiles of grass.

Slaughter
DescriptionSyntax: FIELD SLAUGHTER <animal>
FIELD SKIN <animal>Providing you have a skinning knife in hand, you can instantly slaughter your livestock and provide them with a quick death.
Once slaughtered, you can then skin it providing it is a fully grown animal for various needs. Currently only cows can be skinned.

Agriculturist
DescriptionThis ability is passive.
As an expert in your field, you are quicker at handling the demanding tasks of your farm.

Preservation

FIELD REMOVE PRESERVEBIN
FIELD PRESERVE <berry>
FIELD INSPECT
FIELD GARNEREver wanted jam? You now have the ability to maintain a preservation bin upon your farm! Using the bin, you can place ten berries of either strawberry, cranberry, or blueberry, and after 50 weeks of waiting, you will have a delicious jam that you will be able to garner into a jar.
You can then give your jar of jam to a Gnome miner, and when their endurance falls below 50% the miner will eat the entirety of the jam, replenishing 20% of their endurance. They cannot eat another jar of jam until they rest fully.

Fertilizer
DescriptionSyntax: FIELD FERTILIZE
Sprinkling fertilizer over your field will help your plants grow with greater potential. When you go to harvest, there will be a chance you will receive double the bounty. Fertilizer must be placed before you plant your seeds!
Fertilizer will last across multiple replants and harvests of crops. The effect is lost at the start of each Aetolian year, so be sure to fertilize your fields again after then.
NOTE: It won't affect trees! Save your fertilizer for other plants.
