In the ebb and flow of Nature, there exists a Balance and order to life.
Duiran's sole purpose is to protect that Balance from those who seek to
destroy it, or manipulate it for their own gain. Sometimes the
aggressor, sometimes the watchful observer, Duiran is not a trade
protection guild, nor a social club, but rather, the extension of
Haern's and Slyphe's Divine protection, made flesh in Sapience.

Duiran's Divine Patrons have charged the Benedanti, and those who the
Benedanti select as councillors, with a sacred duty -- to strengthen and
reorganize in such a way that every councillor has both a role in AND a
responsibility for the success of Duiran, and, therefore, the Natural
world in Sapience.

What does citizenship in Duiran offer, you ask? We offer creative
intervention, a chance to help choose the ways to defend Nature against
harm, both intentional and accidental. And, because there can be a
dearth of fun in a war-torn world, we will provide a chance to help
create and enjoy the new rituals, contests, and community that will be
the new Duiran.

If you desire to join us, you should first contact a Benedanti, listed
in HELP DUIRAN. After you have done so, a letter will be sent to you
with more detailed joining information. Please note that you cannot be a
member of a city (or must leave upon joining), as Duiran values devotion
to nature first and foremost. Please also be past novicehood as well.

Remember, fellow Sapiens, that if we do not actively defend our forests,
they may be stripped of their resources, pillaged, and even destroyed.
Without regulations, guidelines, and protection, those who wish nature's
gifts for only themselves will deny them to the other inhabitants of
Sapience.
