Haern and Spirokai.

I've been thinking this over, and it is interesting that many of the
people who condemn Spirokai are in favour of Haern. They are both beings
with followers who possess more power then mortals have been able to
defeat despite years of effort and have ideologies which support their
using said power to push people around.
The similiarities of course go further than that. Those of you who have
actually tried to talk to Spirokai know that 'RL' ideology is a circular
piece of crap which in the end says only one thing, 'we have the power,
we decide how things are going to work'. If you go through and read all
of Haern's books about the 'rhythm', you'll also see that it is a
circular work which says 'we have the power, we decide how things are
going to work'.
Haern and Spirokai, while often being viewed as opposites, are similiar
in that they are the two most hated entities in aetolia. I left Haern's
Order many years ago when he helped his followers abuse a moving spirit
and reincarnation bug to rob the Priest's Tower, an act which gained him
control of Esus and Duiran. The heavy handed, this is the way it's going
to be nature of those he then placed in charge pushed around the wrong
person and Spirokai basically destroyed the Duiran council. High on
power, he's since moved on to different places, attacking the cities
which enemied him. Isn't it ironic that a God who claims to control the
realm of nature and once ordered exterminations suddenly decided that
they were bad when he was the one who profited from having the forests
healthy and only ended up giving the council so many problems that they
had to kick every single person out in a feeble attempt at
restructuring.
Because of Duiran's heavy handed nature and their failure to take out
Spirokai they decided to try and take it out on the Occultists... sad.
The point of my post is, with the threat of war getting closer and
closer, battle lines are being drawn and everyone is going to have to
decide- who do you hate more, Spirokai or Haern? Since Haern basically
made Spirokai the terror he is, I personally choose the latter.
Because, baring a significant amount of divine intervention, the only
way to defeat Spirokai is to quell his rage or gain the help of the
Occultists, and violence isn't a good way to motivate such as them. You
could join Haern's side, but even if he does win, he is immortal and
Spirokai is not, and it would only be a matter of time before he makes
more people suffer again.
