Rejuvenation

Dear citizens of Aetolia:
I pardon for the intrusion into the politics of the public board, as I
am not a politician but a simple Druidess. The only thing which I am
qualified to speak on at all is a love of the forest, and it is with
this in mind that I must address Irruel's post on why a Druid
rejuvenates an exterminated location.
Yes, it is true that extermination destroys herbs in a location. It
burns and blackens the trees, severs any special bond it shares with a
Druid. As one who speaks to the earth, it hurts me to see it that way.
Any Druid who spends any amount of time speaking with the trees in their
grove, learning to love and really care about Nature, cannot stand to
see any section of forest so brutally raped and destroyed.
Why do Druids rejuvenate? It is not because any Divine edict tells us we
must. It is because we love the forest, and cannot bear to see it
destroyed. It is because the earth which trusts us enough to bond with
it also trusts us to care for it when it is hurting. You can quabble
over herbs, and the presence of rangers all you like, but you will never
change the hearts of those of us who really care. And it may be a losing
battle...I may even be sought out and killed for making this posting.
But the minute I stop rejuvenating the blackened earth...the minute that
I betray the trust the earth has placed in me...that is the day I can no
longer call myself Druid.
Again, I am sorry to take up your time, but I hope that I have at least
provided you with a bit of insight.
Yours,
Lady Rosalind Snowbringer
