Respecting the last wishes of the former FFoS, the Renegade Legion has
attempted to peacefully resolve the situation revolving around the
island of Ulangi with what remains of the 'Duiranite Confederacy.' Going
straight to the primary source of the problem, ie Duiran, a proposal was
offered by Renegade Legion to come to a peaceful compromise regarding
RL's autonomous sovereignty over the island. Specifically, the terms
entailed the legalization of extermination on the island of Ulangi
provided rejuvenation was allowed to take place, with tentative details
regarding rejuvenation payment and herb rights included. This proposal
was initially considered by Irruel, whom seemed to be a reasonable
Benandanti. The following month, after the remaining Benandanti were
informed of the offer, the supposed 'foreign policy' Benandanti
(according to Irruel), Ech, outright rejected the proposal. Rather than
progress towards a peaceful resolution being produced, outmoded
idealogical blathering about how Duiran was unwilling to give up any
influence it had (cleverly disguised under the pretense of 'defending
nature') was instead the outcome. Thus, as the Legion must make its
intended home safe for its people (with or without the Confederacy's
help), it has now detonated anti-foilage devices on the island of Ulangi
(after all, we cannot have our members being attacked by the forest when
we walk within it).
Henceforth, the Legion has formulated several key policy dictations to
help keep the situation regarding Ulangi running smoothly:
1) Rejuvenations for the time being upon the island of Ulangi are not
allowed- this policy will most likely be maintained until a resolution
can be reached that will not have forests threatening the safety of
Legionnaires.
1b) Should rejuvenations occur upon Ulangi, the Legion will be forced to
respond aggressively and destroy the equivalent number of rooms within a
forest on the mainland.
1bii) If mainland detonations are required, ungroved areas will be
targetted first. Once valid targets run out, groves will be targetted in
the order of the importance of the individual (guildwise,
organizationwise, social-wise) and then upon the might of the
grove-dweller.
2) Furthermore, Renegade Legion will summarily execute any individuals
rejuvenating upon the island of Ulangi at its nearest convenience.
3) Traps, assisting of Legionnaire opposition in escaping, calling
lightning, etc., are registered as hostile actions and will be responded
to accordingly.
4) There may be exceptions to the current policy regulations listed
above (example: rule 1bii may be temporarily ignored for the purposes of
annihilating the grove of a rejuvenator). To be safe, if you think it
has the chance of signifying opposition to RL, ask us or assume it does.
Please understand that we do not wish further conflict. We plowed aside
the land only to prevent them from harming our members. Once again, RL
attempted to negotiate a peaceful solution, but as Duiran outright
rejected the proposal it was clear we would receive no Duiranite help in
regards to damage received from the forest. Hence, we could not allow
our members to continue being attacked for simply walking into a room
and took the appropriate measures. This is all out of self-defense, and
if our guidelines are followed no additional exterminations will be
required.. Please do not bother trying to rationalize rejuvenations, it
is disgusting to see grown men and women blather on like idiots about
outmoded ideals. The current guidelines will be enforced by RL whenever
we feel like it until such a time as we are able to walk in the forests
safely.
I know the quality of this notice is sub-par, but as it was hastily
drawn up in favor of expending more effort in other ventures the RL
feels it is sufficient to express our stance. Thank you.
End note.
