BONEKEEPER OF THE APOSTLES
'What we give to Our Divine, we give wholly, and so we give it with care.'
I will simply draw your attention to public posting 7757, for the Right Hand of the Jackal's words refute this more elegantly than mine might.
As for your other words, I find them peculiar, coming from one of the Apostles. Have you left behind the Apocalyptica in the wake of the Monomachy? Or is my copy simply outdated? Perhaps you will be so good as to verify; Here are some quotes that I feel are relevant.
'We do not take lessons in sacrifice from a song.'
Its words were turned loose on those with ears to listen and minds to comprehend. And it was a song.
It was the song of war, its verses writ in sanguine strife.
"You shall learn to sing it," spake the voice.
'For the Earth does not hunger.'
The earth must be fed, for it is a vast and hungry beast, pitiless and cold.
'The gates stand open, on the East and the West. The Apostles will be waiting.'
Violence spilled forth as if an avalanche unleashed from the walls of the great city.
Outdated or defunct, regardless; How sad it is that the children of war will not stir themselves to spill forth from the walls of their city, and instead I must come a-knocking. Nonetheless, I accept your invitation to pay the tithe of blood and bone. We will dance the dance of swords and spears in remembrance of the Great Father's battles of old, if only briefly.
STAR-SET
You might consider emulating that which did not end in failure and nigh-extinction, Kin.
You have accomplished much in your long life, it is true. You have had over two hundred years in which to Grow. I have had twenty six - I have barely begun. Your ascent slows, as it so often does on nearing the peak, and as I climb, the gulf between us diminishes, little by little.
Always? A Dragon should choose her words with more care, Star-Set. If it someday comes to be that I surpass you, you will have made of yourself a liar - and that is a poor legacy indeed.
Penned by my hand on Tisday, the 3rd of Omeian, in the year 22 AC.
