Let it be known that I have severed my ties to the de Verdigris bloodline.

I will not recount its history, catalogue its failures, or offer grievances for public consideration. Whatever affection, obligation, or loyalty once bound me to that name has reached its end. This decision was not made in haste, nor is it an invitation to reconciliation, negotiation, or debate.

From this day forward, I claim no place within the de Verdigris bloodline and recognize no familial obligation arising from it. Its affairs are its own, as mine are now mine alone.

Those I have called family may remain whatever they choose to be to one another. I neither ask nor require that anyone follow me in this. I speak only for myself, and I do so with finality.

I have spent enough of my life carrying names, loyalties, and histories simply because they were mine yesterday. Continuance alone does not make something worthy of preservation.


The name de Verdigris is no longer mine.
