Ashtan's laws do not 'get changed on the spur of the moment each time
someone in power gets mad'. This new version of the constitution has
been in the works for a year. It was reviewed by a number of Ashtan
officials and citizens before even going to vote. When we felt it was
ready, it was placed to a referendum. It was not the decision of any one
person, but of the whole city. Due process was followed in the adoption
of this document.
