Landmarking

With the intensity of landmarking this year, a few issues have arose.
While I am by no means the expert, there are a few points I think
everyone should understand before partaking in landmarking. Yes, this is
basically HELP PK but maybe this basic layout will help.
1) If you are standing in a landmark room, you are a target. It doesn't
matter what you're doing there, chatting, catching butterflies, dancing.
If you're there, you are open to be legally killed. There are only ten
rooms where this applies. Avoid standing in these ten rooms and your
chances of dying decreases dramatically.
2) If you are in a landmark room and run from it when attacked, you are
allowed to be followed. Basically, if you get far enough away to where
they're not on your tail, you're okay and you've avoided death.
3) You can not kill for possession of landmark items. The area where the
item is located is not a landmarking area. I think the basic rule, do
not initiate an attack unless in a landmark room can cover the basics I
think (some exceptions apply, read next).
4) If you are forcefully removed (i.e. braziered) from a landmark room
and killed, thats valid. You were IN the landmark room, making you a
target, regardless of where you got removed to for the attack. If you
are forcefully brought INTO a landmark room attacks are not valid unless
of course, you had just fled the room.
5) In a valid landmarking death, the fact that you did not fight back
means nothing.
6) I think, most importantly, people should realize that a landmark
death or attack is, in most cases, not personal. Anger and hatred
towards those that do attack you at a landmark is unnecessary and quite
petty.
I apologize to the adminstrators if I misconstrued any part of the
landmarking regulations. I do hope this puts some of the resentment and
anger that is running rampant to rest though. I also realize that some
people have violated these guidelines but many times I have heard
complaining and whining over a clear cut landmarking death. If you are
one of these people, one that feels that regardless of the fact you were
standing in the Shrine of Ascension, you shouldn't have been attacked,
perhaps you should strongly consider not landmarking.
