Hail Aetolia! I hope the time of this reading finds you well.
I am pleased at this time to be able to announce the safe return of Lady
Slyphe, and explain the events of the past couple of years and Her
absence.
When the constellations collided, and the battle with the Shadows began
anew, the creatures flooded into the Garden of the Gods. During the
ensuing battle, before they were driven out, as Lady Slyphe fought off
one such creature, it suddenly mauled Her on Her side. Instead of
healing over as the wound should have, it began to glow a bright magenta
color. She tried to continue the fight, but lost Her balance, and fell
into the ocean. For months, as She floated in the sea, She made attempts
to communicate with Her own.
Her communications finally reached us, in the way of dreams. Various
dreams were had by the organizations that she patroned. A few of Her
devoted followers realized that these dreams had a common thread, the
presence of the colors aqua and magenta, and began to work to unravel
the mysteries they contained. One dream did not make sense until the
end, and that being of a new plant, made up of aqua blooms and magenta
berries. After more than a year of diligent attention, study, and
searching, we were able to make more sense of them, though a few issues
were still unclear.
Then one day as Sir Mat was attending his duties, he was dragged into a
special sleep by Lady Slyphe, and given a simple message. "Magenta...
Pain...". This was one confirmation that was needed in the unravelling
of matters. While this fact had been presumed, and feared, we now had
the solid evidence that we were on the right path, and did what we could
to redouble our efforts. He also had a new dream of the plant, thus
definitely linking it to the others. But there was yet one piece
missing...
Later as I was pondering over the dreams and their meaning, and
especially trying to fit in the last few pieces, I was given a vision.
This was one of many our Order members recieved in the last few months.
While the vision itself was not noticeably significant, I retreated to
the Lady's temple, hoping to find inspiration, or at least some
consolation, there. After searching the temple, and finding nothing
unusual, I sat in the chapel to begin again, when Moira walked in and
inquired as to what troubled me. We spoke some time about the dreams and
their meaning. As we were talking, and I was recounting what we had
learned, she asked about another dream, one that I'd not yet learned of.
It was a dream of a figure lying on the beach of an island, surrounded
by an aqua glow, but for a deep magenta glow on it's side. It was at
this time I addressed the Order, and we began a search of the islands.
We also began to understand what the plant may be used for. The land was
creating a cure for our Lady.
For two months we searched the islands of sapience, to no avail. We did,
however, begin to locate the flowers in the dreams: magenta blooms, with
red seed pods. An effort was made to begin collecting them all. Many
from outside the Order aided us in this task, and soon we had a large
number of the flowers and seeds. After all of this, we still did not
know where to find Lady Slyphe.
Moira, Lady Slyphe's servant in Her temple, tried diligently to contact
the Lady in any way possible. For months she had been praying and
hoping. Finally she was able to see and confirm that Lady Slyphe was
indeed injured on a beach somewhere. So the search of the islands began
anew, first on Polyargos. She was not found there, so Vhaillor and
Mefistofeles proceeded once more to Ulangi. This time, the Lady was
indeed found on the beach, but in a bad state. After a message was sent
back to the mainland informing the others of the discovery, all of the
Order that was present made their way to the island to assist.
Lady Slyphe was found on the beach of Ulangi, breathing softly, and with
a pulsing magenta wound on her side. In an attempt to comfort the Lady,
Mefistofeles flooded the room, but it seemed to have no effect. Then,
remembering a dream, the Order members took the lilies began to wave
them around the Lady. This effect began to work against the infection
that had spread, and it retreated to the center of the wound. Using the
seed pods, the Order members then drew the infection from Her side. This
done, Her side healed over, but a magenta scar yet remains, the last
evidence of this terrible event.
