Murder and Justice

Tyrant of the Sanguine Fist,

The death of Aiillassa and the subsequent storm of misfortune that has descended upon us as a result of his absence, do not change the facts of the situation and have no bearing on the matter at hand.

The facts are thus:

Two of your citizens chose to slaughter over two hundred (my original estimation was generous, the final count stands at 211) of our citizens. This took place mere days after a successful negotiation with the Empire's Warleader and aides on the subject of reclaiming Helba.

Again, I will remind you that these people were not soldiers or engaged in hostile activities of any kind. They were not, as rumour seems to imply, cultists of Dejaani wielding eldritch power to attack your own citizens. They are not members of the Akkari Host. And they were certainly no threat to the Empire as has been claimed. They were, in fact, sick and fragile citizens of Delve, recently cured of a sleeping sickness originating from parasitic infection.

If we are to assume that being a recipient of healing is tantamount to membership in the healer's religious organisations, then I respectfully request that those of your Empire benefitting from our knowledge in ylemnic restoration and defensive techniques be treated similarly: as members of Delve, and thus subject to our justice. Else, you are welcome to forego use of our technology, or otherwise abandon this idiotic line of reasoning.

As the above is something neither of us wish to happen, I suggest we move on from conspiracy theories and poor justifications and admit the truth for what it is: two of your people murdered over two hundred of ours. No more, and no less.

We will accept the Sanguine Fist's proposal to administer its own justice, but we are not satisfied with that alone. We will also not offer pardons to Whirran or Kurak. As repayment for the lives taken, we insist that the aid promised to us in Helba be given without compensation. Provide this aid and we will consider matters between our two great cities resolved.

We are,

Councilor Tirriki
