This War

Melody,

You make an interesting point. Why help me indeed? Well, perhaps Ashtan
knows better than to not help me, hmm? Of course, asking that question
at all is frankly rather irrelevant if you look at the actual facts of
the matter. For instance. I have told My House and others that even were
I to somehow manage to regain Bloodloch, which I won't, in all
likelihood, I would not want to rule it. I would not want to even move
My House back there. The esteem and pride with which I once spoke the
name of the once great city of Bloodloch is no longer there, replaced
instead by tones of spite and distaste over the outright ignorance shown
by the peoples of Bloodloch.

That Kauller and the citizens of Bloodloch think in their petty little
minds that the creation of a Consanguic House is so simple a matter as
appointing a leader for one is proof enough of the lack of knowledge
they hold of their own culture. That they have so readily available a
vessicle of knowledge at Amairgen and yet they allow her to function
with such an apparent free will, whether it is there or not, that it
enrages the peoples of Ashtan to war, simply shows how little thought
they put into their own existence.

You are right in one thing, however. Death is far more important than
life. Things that one can never even dream of accomplishing can be
accomplished in death, but I'm not certain you could ever understand
that until you have died for the last time. And in finality, Melody, I
frankly joined this war effort with first hopes of striking down the
Knights Infernal. That Bloodloch would surely get in the way I was
secure with, and I'll just as readily dismantle both organizations
should the need be there.
