The only "rights" anyone in this world are entitled to are those that we
grasp with the force of our own actions. You may follow an obscure,
idealized notion of magical justice. You may believe that there are
mystical forces that define what is fair. You may think that an
invisible hand scribes laws dictating that everyone must play nice, that
everyone must be polite, that everyone must offer equal opportunity for
all groups, in all situations, in all times, in all circumstances.

A pity for you.

Power produces privilege, ascendence authors authority, force forges
fairnes.

Save the obstreperous sullen demands for those bedazzled by light. In
the dusky shadows of the north, we can see much more clearly; the only
thing that decrees what a city has the right to do is the power with
which they enforce their actions.
