The Newest Mess

Why, may I ask, have the power struggles that have been going on for
years suddenly become national attention? Ashtan has seen many Overseers
in just the past few years, it should be no surprise that nine out of
ten of them were working on their own personal agenda. I have seen
Ashtan grow, I have seen Ashtan fall, but Ashtan has never stooped so
low as to air their dirty laundry out for all of Aetolia to smell.
Whatever the city is doing now is of no concern to the general public,
they cannot do a single thing except listen and grow weary of
complaints. I suggest Ashtan does what it has been doing since the time
I was Overseer .. Keep their problems and their concerns to the city and
work it out INSIDE the city.
But, since it was posted already, I mine as well add my two sense in.
First of all, the entire land of Aetolia shouldn't be surprised over
this sudden "epiphany" that the Occultist guild has had regarding Clio
and Erato. They tried this once before, remember? OH YEAH .. And then
they left the realms for many a years and came back, only to start
trouble again. And yet, not a single Occultist raised a brow. In fact,
everyone SUPPORTED Erato and Clio, knowing full well the destructive
things they tried to do in Ashtan before. They went as far as to elect
Erato as Overseer and Clio as Guildmistress. Why didn't any of you speak
up from the get go?
What Erato and Clio supposidly tried to do in Ashtan should be no
surprise. After all, the people of Ashtan saw the elections themselves.
They saw every single non-Occultist voted out of the council. They saw
every single non-Occultist be berrated in posts, drug through the mud,
had their names covered in the dirt of lies and rumours. They also saw
the list of the Ambassadors include many of the same people, again, all
Occultsits. You raise a question NOW, when the problem has fully
escalated? Why didn't you fix this from the very beginning?
I personally think this whole ordeal should be worked out inside of
Ashtan .. And truthfully, I'd rather not see the Occultists run to
Bloodloch merely because their Reign of Dominance in Ashtan is coming to
a close. Bloodloch is a quiet group, they really don't enjoy problems
and power struggles. Then again, I don't speak for Bloodloch. I have the
upmost of faith in the leadership there. They know what is right for
Bloodloch. That's something the leadership in Ashtan should try to
resemble --- Instead of working for one's own agenda, or for an entire
guild, work for the CITY.
