The Occultists Guild - Xanithe

Last night much happened and I started the works of fixing. The city of
Ashtan has become vile and is a great distaste in my mouth. The citizens
complain about one thing then another. First it was that the Ohmsfords
were ruling the city, then the Occultists, Since the only people running
against me would lead me to believe that the city is merely an Ohmsford
city. Power-hungry Brin states, however i didn't want a single guild to
dominate a city which The Occultists resided in, I had members of my
guild run so we'd have 5 seats to make these changes, with the approval
of the guild. These changes however were opposed by those wishing to be
democratic. Why would a guild wish to join a city it had very little or
no say in? Just by the guild joining they would've been given a spot on
the council, and no guild would rule over another, nor citizens over the
guilds. Erato had been doing so much work to try and get those changes
in place, and she was replaced because "She was moving to fast" and
"Ysni can do a better job"
I destroyed a wormhole that lead to the Snakes guildhall to protest
against their support of theft of another guild. I also was suggesting
that the city not protect non-citizen snakes within the walls of the
city. People spun this around and turned it into my word is law. I
didn't even have time to talk with the rest of the council about it
before the issue was resolved. If the city of the free supports Theives
then why bother with laws against theft in the city? Erato neither
supported me in destroying the wormhole nor even the policy i was
thinking up in case War between the Infernals and Shadowsnakes
continued. Erato was working on several different projects, and had
completed several as well. Overworked Overstressed and under appriciated
was what Erato told me.
Now for the guild issues. People were outguilded (aside from Xanithe)
because Erato felt they put the city before the guild. They knew what
was trying to be done yet they chose to side with the citizens who had
not known what the plan was. I haven't reinguilded them because i'm
having the guild vote on their actions. As for moving the guild to
Bloodloch, i've already put moving the guild on vote and aside from a
couple people most don't like the city of Ashtan. Where we'd move to is
not known right now. A place with less politics would be the best spot,
however that will be determined if the guild votes to leave. As far as
Xanithe goes, yes Erato kicked him out for contesting and i've
reinguilding him and i'm working to get him up to his former GR and
position. And Brin said that i told him if he did it again that i'd
personally outguild him was a joke, he knew i was joking. With all the
dispair around i needed a good chuckle. Power is what i had wanted
limited. The Occultists are not a group of fighters, we have a few that
fight but on the whole we are a passive guild. I could see a time where
the Occultists weren't the only guild in the city and might not have all
the votes needed to have a say in the city. With that vision i tried to
set up rules and laws to prevent such a thing from occuring. The three
sister's that were outguilded knew of that plan i believe a couple of
them supported it. The guild paid for them to contest and asked each of
its members to vote for the person the guild was asking to run. The
position of Archon for me was a holding spot untill another guild joined
the city, at which time i was going to give them my seat. But life isn't
so easily planned. I worked first to change the city before i would
offer up leaving it. We failed to change it because of three sisters
listening to citizens, putting loyalty the issue. Their fate now resides
with the guild vote.
I hope this clears up some misinformation out there.
