Salutations, Druids and other people listening in,
I hope your shadow falls upon lush forest grounds whilst reading this.
I want to share a story with you today. I want to tell you one, and tell
you about another actually. Parts of it happened only a few hours ago
and others in decades past.
Koron, former Guildmaster of the Paladins, and good friend of mine came
to me for refills. Something I'll never be able to deny him after all he
has done for me.
I messed up the first bunch, due to the presence of another pot in my
inventory that distracted me. And I scowled, as any Druid would do, for
where did this pot come from!?
Its well known that owning two pots is a bad omen, there are numerous
tails in our lore warning us about this. How could I unknowingly have
been walking around with two pots. I can't remember having bought a
second, and why would I. I am sure I wasn't given one either. So...
I must have picked it up, and forgotten about it. I am going Senile! And
even worse..why wasn't I stopped by the owner of the pot?
Noooo...no...it couldn't have been: this pot was unattended?
Surely not..what in the Hunters name happened to the owner??
The situation was as bad as they get people.
As I was taught by my mentor from the age of 26, I asked Koron to hang
on to the pot. Alas he did not understand. Didn't know the story either.
Understandable maybe, he is after all a Paladin. And he handed ME the
pot again.
So I was forced to get writhe of it myself. Swiftly I proceeded to fly
to my location. It fits all the requirements. Its high and in the
forest, so the pot can be placed on the highest branches as far away
from refills and sight as possible.
A century ago, there were places in use by groups of Druids like this,
all over the lands. I can even remember vividly the one in the Aalen,
halfway up the slopes of the Vashnar mountains, on the outermost tree of
the forest. But that was long ago. The Druid of the Aalen were among the
very first who forgot.
And today I realized how many have. For the place I bring Wandering pots
to, also just happens to be my grove. And the highest tree only had 7
pots in it. All of which I remembered as having put there myself. None
of the others, who I shared this location with, used it anymore. They
had forgotten or they had left.
But surely other locations where still in tact!?
I spend two days wandering Sapience, visited almost every tree on higher
ground... but didn't find a spot.
I did however trip over another Wandering one.
My grove is located Atop a hill, at the end of the path trough the
Primordial forest in the Ithmia near the cave. We not only chose this
because of its hight and presence of trees, but also because it was a
place where we had fought alongside Paladins on the landmark, to repay
for their help on the Daylight affecting ones.
Today I invite others to come use this spot, and place their Wandering
Pots there. And I ask others to start new locations that you see fit and
meet the requirements across the known world.
May the stories of the past be told, and may they guide us on our Path
as Druids.
