House Ve'kahi

Greetings, Sapience
I write this message in my new capacity as the Prime Minister of House
Ve'kahi. In the last few years, the existence and outlook of the House
has been rocky at best. I am hoping to address many concerns about the
House itself, and to lay to rest some rumors and misconceptions about
what we are. Also, I am hoping to address all of Sapience, those of
Light and those of Dark, to settle some matters that have been weighing
on me.
First and foremost, I would like to start with some of the
misconceptions and rumors about House Ve'kahi. In our earliest years, we
had many grandiose dreams of what we could make of the world. We
believed that we could take in anyone, change them, and make them
better. We believed that everyone could get along under the tenets of
freedom and unity... one flag, one power. We believed that the ideals of
the Ve'kahi were greater than any one person within its ranks.
What we found was that we were more often turned away from, ignored and
otherwise shown contempt for our egregious comments and actions. We
brought together people who had decades of contempt for one another and
it only gave them a forum to scream at one another again. We found that
we were judged, and most rightly so, on the quality of those who served.
We can not change the ideals of people just by hoping to give them
another set of goals. We can neither squeeze responsibility out of a
child nor intelligence out of an idiot.
With that said, we are going to correct our wrongs. The more lax of our
ranks are being culled. Those that could not put their past behind them
and change are left in that past. We are going to strive to right the
wrongs that have been committed to those Undead whose toes we stepped on
in our infancy and we are going to become better for it. The time for
childishness, instability and general disrespect is coming to an end.
Right now.
To clear up another matter, Ve'kahi is not a city-state and the comments
made were misunderstood at best. The notion of a "Ve'kahi Nation" was a
nice idea representing the collection of smaller Houses that had joined
under us and, while we never meant to compare ourselves to a city, the
purest sense of the idea we were trying to convey was neither thoroughly
explained nor accepted. That having been said, we have vacated the
notion. All within the ranks of the Ve'kahi are equals and, while we
internally respect the bonds formed between the different sects within
our House, our stance portrayed to the rest of the world will be nothing
less than unquestionable unity. After all, in everything that we do, our
goal is unity. Unity within Undead society must be formed and will be
maintained. To paraphrase, Ve'kahi is a House, nothing more... an
ambitious one, but only a House none the less.
I hope that we will be speaking with many of the leaders of the various
Undead organizations. Dexter will be handling matters of diplomacy
within the House, and any relating inquiries can be addressed to him. I
support and encourage communication with the Ve'kahi from anyone that
wishes, no matter what the issue. I will always do my best to see that
things are handled in a fair manner concerning any issues that arise.
Regarding those of the Light and other enemies that the Ve'kahi may
have, I wish to make the stance of the Ve'kahi clear. If you fight with
our members over personal matters, the House will not interfere. We
allow people to make choices and we do not coddle those that make bad
ones. The House will not declare enemies of any who handle their issues
on a personal level. However, I ask that the sanctity of the castle
itself not be breached. To make things honorable in this request,
members of the Ve'kahi will not be allowed to seek sanctuary within the
castle for a time after being involved in fighting. We do not have the
guards that Bloodloch or Spinesreach may have, but we value our home
like any other. Any incursions past our walls will be reason to brand
you an enemy of the House permanently.
I appreciate your time in reading this post.
