I would have thought that it makes complete sense that two parties may
perform acts of aggression and 'disrespect' to one another when they are
at war. However, it would be less than correct if it were performed on a
third party, who is not in any way involved in the conflict.

Perhaps I am mistaken. But thank you for pointing out the obvious.
