Hashan

Yhog has requested that I post - on his behalf - on the events of the
day of 1st Lanosian in Hashan. Yhog, having thrown down the gauntlet
some time ago to Bokag, the imposter king of the trolls, awaited a
response from his rival for the throne of Hashan. Yhog had challenged
Bokag to either clear off out of Hashan, or face him in a duel, the
winner of which would stay behind and rule Hashan.

Disconcertingly, while Yhog awaited a response from his rival Bokag, a
shadow beast of some kind appeared and attacked Yhog. In a fight to the
death, the beast was slain and exploded into thousands of inky motes,
leaving no corpse. The source of this creature is uncertain but its
ferocity was undeniable.

At the agreed time, Yhog made his way to the throne room of Bokag and
reiterated his challenge to him. No answer was forthcoming. By this
time, I had joined Yhog and the arrogance of the supposed king of the
trolls was pitiful. He simply refused to speak. This slight was
obviously a result of Bokag's shilly-shallying and showed complete
disrespect for trollish rules of engagement. Yhog, frustrated by the
silence he received in this matter, launched into the king, knocking him
off his feet and dislodging the crown. Bokag retaliated but it was clear
to us both that he was showing no heart. His defence was insipid and his
attacks against Yhog were uninspired. He fought like newborn rather than
a troll whose head was supposed to wear a crown. For Yhog to have killed
Bokag under these conditions would have brought honour to neither of
them.

Yhog suspended the fight and scorned the would-be-king for his failure
to fight like a true troll warrior. In a pique of pity and disgust, Yhog
proclaimed that he would choose another day for the king to duel him. He
also invited all the trolls of Hashan to witness the duel so that there
would be no question as to who the victor was. Sneering his disdain for
Bokag, Yhog left. No doubt he is contemplating his next move against
this pretender to Hashan's throne.

Penned by my hand on the 4th of Lanosian, in the year 167 MA.
