Duiran problem, and realm-wide problem

Greetings,
I'll get right to the point. I've listened to what some of you are
saying, and you're saying that Wedric burning down all the growing herbs
in the realms isn't your problem. You're right...you aren't responsible
for planting them, nor harvesting them. You've always had a supply
around, and when you get low, you just go to your nearby herb dealer.
That's well and fine..there are enough herbs in the realms to keep it
going for a number of years.

However, the thing you fail to grasp is that those herbs have to come
from somewhere. Wedric once was a leader of Duiran...something he threw
away when the Chakrasul corrupted him into thinking he could reign over
the forest through Amelia, the dryad. What this does mean though, is
that he has a very strong knowledge of the realms, and where plants are.
He is infernoing anywhere he possibly can, and it literally has wiped
away entire areas to no plants whatsoever. This means that until they
are replanted and allowed to grow again, no herbs are -continuing- to be
picked. That means that current supplies out there are finite, and
eventually -will- evaporate away if they aren't eventually replenished.
Now, I think a major misconception most of you citydwellers have is that
because there are so many herbs out there in pocketbelts and caches, it
would be a cinch to replant. The truth of the matter, for those who do
not know this, is that in order to plant an herb, it must have been
picked within one minute of being planted, if not it is useless and
won't grow into a plant.

Now what this means, for those not connecting this, is that areas cannot
be replanted quickly if we only have a handful of fresh herbs to use to
replant with. If he continues destroying ones replanted, even the fresh
supply would disappear eventually. It becomes a problem for the average
person when herbs can't be replaced at the speed they are bought and
used in...without the Druids or Duiran's influence at all, prices will
rise in a situation like that and you will be even more upset. At this
point, people begin to blame Duiran for their discomfort with the herbs,
and it leads into a vicious cycle.

The current herb and replanting ban is meant, not to drive people to
help us deal with a problem that affects us all in the end, but instead
to try and restrict the number of herbs sold so that supplies do not
dwindle so quickly. Now...to correct something Hadur said. When
individual members of Duiran are attacked, we dont' impose bans, just
like if a paladin is attacked, they don't impose a ban. However, assume
for a moment that all villages and land in the realms stopped producing
new materials needed for forging. What would be the logical course of
action? To continue to forge at normal speed and use all the existing
supplies up, or to slow or halt forging until a solution is found so
that there will always be some supplies around if an emergency arises?
This is the type of situation we are in. Wedric is a person who's
knowledge of the natural world is enough that he could for all intents
and purposes halt plant growth, which would be tangent to someone
stopping all land and cities from producing your so desired comms. We
don't ask for people to kill or stop him for our own need as much as
hope that some of you have enough foresight to see that it -does- affect
you in one way or another, and take actions based on that.

Thanks,
Caspien
