Tasur'ke

My fellow Aetolians,

I know many of you don't know who I am, or have not seen me around. I
can't say that I have spent time helping with the totem, either, but I
have spoken with people of both sides of this so called conflict, and if
accounts are to be believed, then the totem is not something the
villagers of Tasur'ke want.

While I can understand that Duiran may want to preserve the wilderness
and keep it as it has been, this is obviously not what has been
happening. The areas around Tasur'ke have been changing into a jungle,
as many of us know. It has not been left alone, but it has been altered
into something that the citizens of the village don't want.

If this means that I am a supporter of Tasur'ke, then I guess I am. If I
am branded an enemy of the wilderness, as I am sure I may well be, I can
understand that too. I only seek to understand why the wishes of the
villagers would be crumpled. For those outsiders who wish to change it,
ask yourself this: Would you go to Ashtan or Shallam and try to change
the city to something it is not, regardless of what the people inside
plan? I highly doubt it. However, the totem is being opposed by those
who are both inside the village and seeking to serve its own citizens,
not those of any outside organization who think they know best.

I am not trying to sound mean, it just seems to me that Tasur'ke was
doing fine on it's own. The idea of it becoming a larger city at some
later date has come up, but as far as I know, no action has been taken
on the matter. These people have made no changes thus far to hurt
Nature, so why should others go and change it for them?
