The Balance of the Realm

After I took the position of Maestro of Jhako I spend many hours in the
Chamber of Jhako, before the Globe of Balance or in quiet solitude,
contemplating the balance of the realm. For a long time, since the fall
of Bloodloch or even as far back as the departure of Chakrasul from the
realm, I noticed that the balance of the realm has been seriously
distrubed. But only after speaking to a fellow guildmate, Lord Acino
Tha'l Arctos, I have decided that I can wait no longer and have to voice
my concerns in this forum. Acino told me that he was leaving the realm,
probably never to return. He told me that this is no longer the age of
midnight, that the realm has turned into "Lightolia" and that he sees no
sense in continuing the fighting. He told me that when he came to this
realm around 100 years ago, there were around double the number of
fighters at each side and both sides still had distinct different moral
values. Today the morals are lost, it only matters from which city you
come and the whole epic struggle has turned into a few people bullying
those weaker then they are. Sadly, I could not disagree with him and had
to let him go.I promised to keep his memory alive as a true warrior of
darkness, and I keep my promise with this post.
I could not keep him to stay, for I myself have witnessed the fact that
over the last decade, many of the best and brightest necromancers have
left the realm in a slowing decaying process. Or they turned their back
to the dark arts, because the ever increasing inbalance between light
and darkness has turned the whole conflict more and more pointless.
While some simple-minded fools may rejoice in that development, it is in
the long run disastrous for the realm. While the dark side leaves the
realm, the light side suffers in the same way from the absence of a real
challenge. Many people come here to witness and experience the epic
struggle between light and darkness of the midnight age, when this
becomes a farce they leave and the realm slowly dies a bit more each
day. I do not wish to see that happening. I call upon everyone, mortal
or divine, regardless of race, class or believe, to ponder my words and
think about what he alone or in his guild, can do for himself to make a
change! We need a movement to restore the balance of the realm and we
need it now, before the damage becomes irreversible. For all those who
wish to speak to me about what can be done, I spend my time equally in
Ashtan at the "Wish Upon a Shooting Star" or in the Spinesreach
Institute where I intent to hold lectures about this and other topics
related to the state of the realm.
