The Mhun Enlightenment Coalition

Dear Aetolians,

I write to announce the Mhun Enlightenment Coalition. We believe that
everyone has the right to be free and able to reach his or her
potential, to be able to express his or her will, provided that it is
not to take away this right from others. Considering this basic belief,
we stand for a change with the way Mhun miners are treated in Moghedu.
There, they are held as slaves, chained to a sunless world of endless
labor. Fed enough and clothed enough only to keep them alive and whipped
by their masters, the Mhun miners live brief and terrifying lives: lives
usually cut short by thoughtless hunters.

We have found that this simply isn't fair.

Each Mhun has a great capacity for knowledge. They are not a race of
semiaware beings understanding only their work. A reawakening of free
Mhun culture is in order, for there is art in Moghedu, and there is hope
now. Why is this renaissance possible? Their slavery is not natural.
Their nature is not inferior. Their alarmingly poor living conditions
are not permissible. Our purpose is to raise awareness of this culture,
and to study, understand, and liberate it from the leaden constraints of
oppression and cruelty.

The Mhun Enlightenment Coalition, called Mhenco in abbreviation, is
committed to ending the injustices of Moghedu nonviolently. We are not
about to hunt those that decide to slay the Mhuns -- rather, we wish to
foster an appreciation of the Mhuns so that one would not wish to harm
them. And what is the strength, honor, or game in attacking a slave
consigned to his or her cell?

Ideally, the Mhuns will soon be freed from slavery, but nothing is going
to change unless we -- Mhuns and non-Mhuns -- can confront this
challenge to our rights as Aetolians together. Truly, if as a giant
society we cannot ensure this for all, we have little to claim. There is
no victory unless we can all share it.

Simply put, our goals are three-fold:
1. To make Aetolians aware of the injustices that the miners endure.
2. To study the Mhuns and research their past, and to provide
information to Mhuns about the outside world -- to simultaneously learn
and teach.
3. To free the Mhuns physically and psychologically, improving their
conditions dramatically and thusly letting their culture flourish.

So, we of the Mhun Enlightenment Coalition extend our invitation to all
concerned Aetolians, Mhuns and activists both. Together we can reform
the injurious state.
