Corruption

Your argument, while certainly entertaining, does not actually offer
fact. You see, you're engaging in a fallacious act that assumes the
intermediate casual connections between events in a sequence. In short,
you believe that simply because you see something one way, that is the
way it must be. Example? "Corruption is desire, and the pursuit of such
desire." What evidence did you offer to back this up? Indeed, you did
not speak without support, you said "If there was no desire for power
there would be no leadership." You see, on your side of the matter, you
believe everyone sees things as you see things, assuming something that
is, in fact, not true. Why am I the Guildmaster of the Daru? My peers
had enough confidence in my abilities that they have decided to place
their trust in me. A position that humbles me greatly every time I think
of it. I exist as the "leader" because that is the word our mortal minds
use to comprehend the position that a vessel such as myself attains,
acting as the mouthpiece for their beliefs.

"If there was no desire for possessions there would be no desire to work
for money..." It is harder for a rich person to attain perfection then
it is to fit a humgii through the eye of a needle. Every one of us is at
a different stage of progression (and in the cases of many, a state of
-regression-), so there cannot be a mandate that someone pay so much
money for such and such cause. The desires of your heart, such as you
outline, can be used for personal possessions and tepmoral things, or
they can be used for those things you do in order to try to improve
yourself, that you may better help those around you.

Though I have no doubt you could respond to me in kind, pointing out
supposed holes in my logic, I assure you I know what I know, and have
grown a testimony of it. I have pondered many days, spoken with my Lord
Rahn many times, and meditated, even prayed on my hands and knees, to
try and understand what my mortal shell cannot comprehend. There are
many things I do not know and may never know, but there are a few things
I have come to an understanding of, and I bare this testimony to you
that Corruption exists only in the minds of those who would spread it.
Sugar-coating the idea of corruption and making it pleasing to Mortal
minds is the only way Corruption is spread. As I said in a post many
moons ago, first you abhor something, then you tolerate it, and finally
you embrace it.

I will give one final example before I leave. Vampires were once feared
on our land, they were once hated, despised, loathed and a plethora of
other words that cannot even describe such emotion. Now? They sup with
some at their very tables. There have been tales of Mortals and Vampires
-mating-. Acknowledge not my rant if you so choose, but the words I
speak are truth... and they simply cannot be stopped.
