Many mhun die every day, not because another race needs to consume them
for sustenance. It is explorers who traverse the globe and oppress this
isolated race.

Why?

Because they can.

So, no. Although Callisto was reffering to freeing the slaves, giving
the mhun the right to live in peace would cause famine and hunger to
none, nor would it disrupt the "Cycle" of anyone but those who hunt
sheerly for the enjoyment of taking life.
