Clarification

I will keep this short and simple. It appears that the main point of my
earlier post was missed. The point was -not- whether the leaders of
Enorian had sufficient reason to demand the removal of the Sentaari
guildhall or the Shrine to Niuri. Those matters are certainly open to
debate, but that was not the point.
The point is that a Shrine has been defiled and destroyed. Worse, this
was done without giving reasonable opportunity for the Goddess Niuri or
Her Order to respond to the council's demand. You can rest assured that,
heartbreaking as it would have been for the Order member charged with
the task, the Shrine would have been properly and lawfully removed -by-
the Order, if that had been the course decided upon after due
discussion. Sadly for the honor of Enorian, no such due course was
followed.
There is much doubt as to who was "rewarded" (if anyone), and why those
"rewards" may have been given, in the months following the incident with
the Flame. The former Guildmaster of the Cabalists has stated that
-none- who participated in the deed were rewarded for their actions.
According to two authoritative sources (a Dhasan and the former GM of
the Cabalists), the city of Spinesreach evicted those participants, and
only -later- did the city, or parts thereof, receive the favor of Niuri.
All this is beside the point, but perhaps it needs to be stated to
correct some of the assumptions which were apparently made after the
fact. I cannot speak for the thoughts and motives of any Divine, but it
appears to me that your assumption that Niuri "rewarded" anyone for the
Flame experiment are unfounded. If you wish to know Her true stance with
regard to that incident, my best suggestion would be to humbly ask Her
about it.
On a related note: those who prefer to think for themselves, rather than
listening to propaganda, may gain a better understanding of Mystery and
Her ways by a careful reading of the scrolls CLANHELP ACUMEN and HELP
MYSTERY. We mortals must never assume that we understand the ways and
concerns of the Divine, least of all Mystery Herself, but if you learn a
bit you will quickly find that many of the things you love and value
most in Sapience -- and in yourself -- fall within the purview of
Mystery.
Again, let us address the real issue here: a city which claims to be
Sapience's bastion of Light, lawfulness, honor and all things good has
wantonly destroyed a sacred Shrine. It was a slap in the face to -all-
Divine, not only to the Goddess Niuri, and I suspect that all Divine are
now watching to see how the "city of Light" will handle this mistake.
The real question is, how -will- you handle it? Having made this gross
misstep, will you admit it and seek to correct your course, or will you
enlarge your error by attempting to justify it or evade the issue?
Sapience is watching. Undoubtedly the Divine are watching. If you abhor
the chaotic methods of those who harmed the Flame, please turn back now
from a course which appears every bit as chaotic and ill-considered.
