What is due to Patrons, and a small warning

When I was asked to be the Patron of the Magi so many decades ago, it
was agreed at the time that this would be temporary. That the Magi were
hoping one of My Siblings would one day awake and be suitable for taking
over their Patronage.

When I returned from a short journey into the Valley of Coruscating
Joviality, however, I discovered that I had been replaced as Patron
without so much as a message, letter, or discussion regarding this
change.

I would have thought that My decades of effort on behalf of the Magi
might at least have warranted My being told of this possibility when My
Brother awoke. Afterall, I was around, I was even corporeal.

Children, your Patrons work harder for you than you can imagine. They
deserve your consideration. In the future, if you seek to change your
Patron, for whatever organization, make an effort to speak with the
Patron beforehand. Or at least have the courtesy to send Him or Her a
message that explains what is happening.

On something of a side note, I notice that Omeg has been removed from
the Magi by Valie because she was being contested by him for the
position of guildmaster. For such a serious action, you would think he'd
committed some serious crime... like stealing all the guilds credits, or
all its gold (as others have done in the past. But no, the most serious
charge she can lay at his feat is that he failed to give her a simple
report about a small issue that has little to do with the day to day
operations of the guild, or even any serious security risk. She thought
he had more information about it, and he says he had no more information
to report beyond what they discussed within the guild. She doesn't
believe him. Therefore his long years of service to the guild mean
nothing.

I only mention this as a warning to the rest of the Magi. Be careful not
to be unpopular for having been bossy when you were young. All the work
you've done in the guild may come to nothing.

Especially if you continue to follow Me.

I hope that the Magi will flourish with their new Patron. I am not so
foolish as to think it impossible. Great changes such as this often have
positive effects, and I am hopeful that the guild may grow and once
again have activity within it.

To everyone else I remind you to give your Patron their dues. Do not
shirk your duty in that regard. Not all of My Siblings have the patience
I have.

Penned by my hand on the 5th of Niuran, in the year 140 MA.
