My dear fellow,
The Ashtan troops of which you speak, were surrendered to Enorian, by
their Commander. That Enorian held them as Prisoners of War served only
to save their lives.

Had those soldiers fought for Ashtan, they would have been swept aside,
as were the other 121 soldiers Ashtan raised. They would have made no
difference whatsoever in the conflict.
