Tiphareth and Daskalos,
You both exhibit attributes of what I would consider the true Light. To
kill indiscriminately will always be an act of evil. Pay no heed to the
hecklers. They may not understand the reality of their crime, but that
makes it no less an act of Darkness.
In other News, Lord Rahn has been hailed by a few of Ashtan's citizens.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
{Disclaimer} These are not intended to be the views of The City of
Ashtan, any of it's other citizens, save the ones who stand up for True
Light. Ashtan is a free city. What this means is it is not run by
Guilds, rather by the will of it's collective. Lord Rahn is the Patron
of Ashtan, however Citizens of Ashtan may disregard him if they wish, or
as a few have done, Revere Rahn.
For once in the history of Ashtan, it may truely be said that all of
Ashtan's citizens are free. Thanks to the brave efforts of the Daru,
under the guidance of our Lord Rahn, the orphanage has been shutdown,
and I can only hope permanently. I know from firsthand experience the
terror that orphans had to contend with every day in The City of
Freedom. Now all citizens, including orphans are free to walk about
safely.
Now as a Free and Proud Citizen of Ashtan, I welcome Lord Rahn as
Patron. I encourage all Daru and Luminaries to continue to bring Light
to this city, so long as it is true Light and not the indiscriminate
killing I have observed in many other lands at the hand of those that
would call themselves soldiers of the "Light". There is a way to know
when one is amidst true Light. I will quote a friend of mine, a Luminary
who'm I will leave unnamed. They said this,
1 "Light is the spirit of generosity, kindness, sacrifice, and
compassion."
2 "Light is the display of all good things"
It would be an empty lie to say that I was walking in the light, then
went to Moghedu and started mercilessly killing Mhuns. Even if they were
slaves, when I find a Muhn miner, sitting and enjoying his lunch, if I
let loose a flurry of attacks on him with the intent to kill, I would be
doing something for a selfish reason. Because I wanted experience
quickly, if I am willing to kill someone for no other reason, and say
it's because he's a slave, I have commited EVIL.
There was a very bad joke, when I spent my young days as an Initiate of
Perfection. I went bashing with one of my superiors one day, and we went
to the mine. I asked my superior why he killed the mhun. He told me,
"that was just a Mhun who hasn't seen the light."
From that day on I started wondering what the Light really was. Have any
of you ever wondered?
Light - 1.) The display of all good things.
2.) The spirit of generosity, kindness, sacrifice, and compassion
3.) Light comes from the divine. If we display the Light, we are
reflecting Divine Light.
It is the Darkness that is most in need of the Light. May a great
seperating work occur with in all guilds that claim Light. I pray to
Lord Rahn fervently that those who do not know the Light know the Light,
and that those who do not wish to know the Light stop claiming the
Light.
I pray that all in Sapience wake up from Darkness and protect innocent
life.
When this world has had enough pain then the Midnight Age will end.
Vampires
--------
As for these, I speak freely when I say that I would welcome a cure to
the abomination. They are free to walk in this city as citizens and
visitors. I respect that. The problem comes when a vampire doesn't feed
enough, and then they frenzy. That is a problem. Because it is
indiscriminatly killing.
