The Black Who?

After reading so many recent posts that associate Lord Rahn, and all
thet He is, with Pythona's little band of miscreants, I feel I must
speak out as a Soulsmith in the Order of Rahn.
Although Pythona and his over-zealous band may have, at some point, been
blessed, in some way, by Rahn, I want to make it very clear that they do
not represent the Order of Rahn. Their actions are completely
independent of the Order and are not sanctioned, supported or even
understood by many of us in the Order. In fact, my own dealings with
Pythona, despite his emphatic statements to the contrary in his last
post, have been met by a stony and alarming silence. Perhaps he and his
band are prepared to share the secrets of the Black Hand (or Fira et
Lumina) with everyone EXCEPT those in the Order of Rahn. Odd, but quite
in line with my own views about this clan.
Rahn's way allows for everyone to follow their own paths. We will all
take different routes, as long as we are prepared to suffer the
consequences of this. The so-called Black Hand, are following a
particular path to the top of the mountain, one which is very different
to mine. Whether they find perfection or death remains to be seen. I can
only hope that the journey they have embarked upon is one that takes
them beyond their current misguided notions of what it means to strive
for perfection. What is very clear to me, however, is that the clan was
conceived in violence and has, subsequently, brought the true Order of
Rahn into disrepute and tarnished His way as understood by the truly
faithful.
A common misperception about Rahn's way is that He is only about one
thing - Light. The complexity of His way is such that if Light is the
only aspect you see, you are more likely to be blinded by it than
enlightened. One seems to see so many posts in which the name of Lord
Rahn is mentioned as if the writer is an expert on the subject of Light,
and by sometimes forced association, Lord Rahn.
Similarly, if the Black Hand is the only aspect of Rahn you see, just
because they say they have His sanction, then you too run the risk of
being accused of blindness. They are johnny-come-latelys compared to an
Order that has survived so much over so long and spent much time
exploring and understanding His Way. They have much to learn and I fear
the lesson will be a harsh one.
