My Thoughts

I find it quite presumptuous of anyone to tell me exactly what I can and
cannot be and that my choices for myself are wrong. I have been what I
am for almost 50 years, and have never once regretted it. I chose to
become a vampiress for many reasons, one of which, and probably the most
prominent one, was freedom. During that time, I may not have had it, but
I endured and suffered as anyone did, and found it in my own little
niche. What I don't need now is a simple bully stating under the guise
of the great Lord Rahn, be what I want you to be or get killed.

That is where I simply have to draw the line. To be silent would be
erroneous on my part, for I believe that no one has a right to simply
state because of their own feelings that one person should become, or
unbecome something of their own choosing. Just as an example and nothing
more, it would be akin to the Daru stating that they don't like what the
Sentaari are and if they don't change to be Daru, they (The Daru) will
take it upon themselves to force that change upon them (The Sentaari).
Somehow, even scribing that sentence does not feel right because what
right would anyone have to say that to another being, who is capable of
sentient thought and thinking for themselves as individuals?

What I give people - what I change them into, I do not do lightly or
without forethought. Being a thrall is all about learning, much as
anyone would learn in their given profession or walk of life. It is
during that time that one learns if they are suited to become a Vampire,
and it is in that time that someone should change their mind. No one can
force being embraced upon you - a simple rejection of your enthraller's
blood and gift would suffice to end whatever bond would have otherwise
been created. I cannot speak for anyone else, but if you do not wish to
be what you are, there was time to change that decision. If you were
embraced without being enthralled for any length of time, that is
stupidity. I can count myself as an exception, for I knew what I wished
to be and sought it out at 18 and achieved it within 6 months. You will
never see me whine or otherwise wish I were something else, because that
was my decision.

What I will not tolerate is someone saying that I was wrong for doing
what I did or choosing the way I did. Nor will I tolerate someone
demanding that I change who and what I am, only because they don't like
it. How ignorant of me would it be to tell all Luminaries that they
chose wrongly in becoming servants of the Light? How any less
presumptuous would it be for me to tell all Daru that they should become
Vampires just because we are in the Midnight Age? It wouldn't fly, nor
does *telling* me that I must change what I am on one person's word.

On one last note, anyone is free to see who I associate with and who
claims membership in my Coven. I have nothing to hide. If one wishes to
bring things to light, why hide matters such as those you call your
colleagues. Only my thoughts, take them as they are....
