In response to your post, Irawn:
The landmarks, while acting as an indication, are far from accurate in
determining whether or not the 'good' side or the 'evil' side is winning
or not; likewise just because the number of devotion-, spirituality- and
illumination-users far outnumbers those who pursue the necromantic arts
does not mean we do not live in a Midnight Age. Evil and corruption
strike in many different forms; only the least of which being the
manifestation of skills like Necromancy and Domination; the are other,
far more subtle forms of evil which do indeed permeate the realm, and
have gained substantial victories; I have seen people supposedly on the
side of 'light' and 'goodness' go on killing rampages, persecuting
innocents, and stealing; hiding behind the banner of being in good
guilds does not make them any less evil - in fact, the number of people
left who are dedicated to preserving life, to kindness and compassion,
are precious few; as my friend Moot has pointed out in his earlier post.
Perhaps this would be where your Midnight Age lies; not in the
landmarks, but rather in the fact that they act as the shining cover for
evil and despair.
Just my thoughts.
