Consanguine Cure

On this day, Lucimal, Sotere, Trentacus, Pythona, Xargo, and myself
gathered in an attempt to return Trentacus to mortal form. In the
interests of science and progress, we're making our attempt public.
Listed is the ritual we attempted. Note that is from Trentacus' point of
view

Althalus takes a vial of Ulangi, containing liquefied corruption, from
his kitbag, saying, "Though I have sworn to my Prince, Nightshadow, to
fight corruption, in this instance it shall be used to heal you.
Previous rituals have proven that an uncontrolled addition of fire will
kill the Consanguine, and thus, a change must be made. The corruptive
powers of this vial should change your body enough to make the
transition possible, though we can make no guarantee on the effects it
will have on your soul. Do you consent to this attempt at a cure?"

At this point, Trentacus agreed to proceed with the ritual

Althalus pulls leather gloves his hands, uncorks the vial, and pours a
bit onto his right pointer finger. Upon your forehead he draws a circle,
and then lines radiating from it. "May the sun youd soon see help you
survive this process," he says, under his breath. He then quickly
removes the gloves.

Sotere raises his right hand, palm towards you. He focuses on the
elemental plane of air, clenches his fist and draws his hand towards
himself, slowly drawing the air that is unique to the Consanguine blood,
out of you.

Lucimal hands you a vial, containing a mixture designed to temporarily
fortify your resistance to fire. "Consanguine bodies are not intended to
survive fire. All previous attempts to instill fire into the one who
would be cured have resulted in death. In order to further preserve you
against the fire that would consume your flesh, this potion has been
prepared. Unlike corruption, no serious harm should come to you as
result."

Trentacus drank the vial at this point

Lucimal says, "Once again, are you ready to risk your unlife in order to
see this through?"

Trentacus once agian agreed to go through the ritual

Sotere presses his left hand agianst his chest in a tightly clenched
fist. The air around it grows hazy with heat distortion as he focuses on
the plane of fire. He slowly pushes the elemental power towards you,
finishing with his left palm facing you.

Our process did not cure Trentacus. It also did not, however, kill him.
The primary result of the ritual was an alteration to the blood of every
Consanguine in the room. Lucimal, Trentacus, and myself were overcome
with all manner of debilitation until we purged about three fourths of
our total blood. The project was not a total loss, however, as a divine
source confirmed that the ritual did in fact have some effect towards
the desired cure, thought it was not enough to have any permanent
effect. We publish this information in the hopes that it, like the Black
Hand's attempted ritual, will add to the knowledge of those trying to
find a cure.
