The Black Hand

Shock. Horror. Revulsion. These are some of the things I'm feeling at
this moment, after having a chance to read Jamie's post on the Black
Hand's so called "war". Where to begin.
First off, let me call attention to the fact that they did NOT declare
war against all consanguine, simply rogues. Why, you may ask? Because
the Black Hand, while bloodthirsty and crude in the most obvious of
ways, are not idiots. They don't want the entire city of Bloodloch
hunting them down and dancing on their graves. No, they will go after
rogues, because by and far rogues are weaker, and have no sense of
organization. They are easy pickings.
This is the latest in a long line of Black Hand's excuses for bloodshed.
Like sharks or leeches, like the carrion birds of the battlefield, they
are drawn to death. They ally themselves with whomever they feel can
give them the most satisfaction, then go forth and make their kill under
a banner of righteousness, without regards for what will be there
awaiting them when the smoke clears. The consequences of such acts of
senseless brutality escape their grasp. At least Searoth had a pretense
before declaring vampires "evil."
Jamie, How dare you proclaim the Rhythm will strike down your new
enemies? How DARE you? You dare to declare the will of Lord Haern in an
issue that he has yet to speak of? You are not even a member of the
hunt. Shut your simpering hole, worm, and do not speak of things you do
not understand.
But it doesn't end there. As a member of the Black Hand, Xargo is also
hunting rogue vampires. Only he is doing it under the pretense that the
tomes of Haern have declared the Consanguine "unnatural." By allying
yourself with those who would speak about the Rhythm as if they knew
about such things, xargo, you make me ashamed to call myself part of the
hunt you claim to stand for.
Unfortunately, there are a few others in the Order of Haern who seem to
seek the same ends as Xargo. And so I declare my intent now. Though I
still call myself part of the hunt, and though Lord Haern is still my
guiding hand, if I am asked to help my Odermates, I will refuse to take
part in this, the wholesale slaughter of innocents. Whatever may come,
you brought this on yourselves.
I find myself in a strange position. I count many rogue vampires as my
enemies, and one as my lover. I will defend them all, if necessary. But
I swear by every oath to every God or Godess ever brought into
existence, if Khaiterra is harmed by any one of you in the Black Hand
foolish enough to try, all the prayers in the world will not be enough
to save your souls from the blackest pits of hell, down to which I will
drag all of you, kicking and screaming.
In Honour and Fury,
Sir Fortenrus Kal'Adun
Penned by my hand on the 19th of Khepary, in the year 131 MA.
