Ah, I was waiting for this to be brought up. You have spoken of being
bound to a Sire, which makes me prey? Bound, to a life I cannot leave.
Try, if you may, to think of it this way.. What is a characteristic
allfind admirable in an individual? Loyalty. When one succumbs, and
accepts the Dark Gift, they pledge themselves entirely to this unlife.
They are bound to a Sire, who becomes their mentor, their teacher. I ask
you, what is wrong with this kinship? Is this close interaction a
terrible thing? Loyalty, again. A Consanguine cannot change their class
thrice a week merely to better their abilities. A Consanguine pledges
themself to WHAT THEY ARE with that very first sweet taste of our
sanguine nectar.
Unnatural, yes, that we are, as mystical beings are wont to be. The
spark.. The spark of mortality we have graciously given up, but recieved
eternity and knowledge of the Blood in return. Though, every personality
has within it their own spark - look into the eyes of the next being you
pass, alive or undead, and you shall behold it shining forth with
tenacity. It is this spark that I hold to be sacred, and *that* spark is
what *I* cherish in undead and mortals alike. Mortality is a frailty in
this case.
As for serving one, and only one, I stand as proof of your statement. I
am Loyal to my Lady of Mischief, and aye, to my Sire, and with it, my
brethren. But Rosalind, do you not consider yourself to serve your
guild, your city, are you not a matriarch? Life, mortal or non, is
servitude, though in actuality very few among us truly serve one, and
only one.
Predators never cease to hunt.
