Bewilderment

I keep seeing this one word, over, and over again. That word is
corruption. It seems the light has a passion for rooting out and
destroying corruption, wherever it may be, but they don't ever exacty
clarify what corruption they are talking about. They are using a general
principle to declare war. Without specificity, corruption has no
meaning. Corruption is an idea, from it stems malicious acts, deeds, and
ideas. You claim we are corrupt, yet Ashtan has done nothing in the past
10 years but attempt to survive. Do you call the boy that is being
bullied corrupt the day he fights back?
Another thing I find fantastically amusing is that the luminaries as a
guild spawned from corruption. I'm sure you all remember the lovely
priest guild, one that has committed more evil acts than even me.
Disbanded, remade into the luminaries, woohoo. Who's in it? Same people.
Granted, their one goal since formation has been to end all corruption,
of course, they can't identify corruption, so its shifted to, "End all
things we don't like, and we'll just call that corrupt." Now until you
have -reasonable- wants and desires for the progress of the City of
Ashtan, and can identify specifically the 'elements of corruption' that
you want abolished, you have no justification to even pee on the side of
an Ashtan building, let alone try to raze one.
I don't think I really have to say much about Rahn going to war for
peace. The reasoning in itself makes no sense, and I think everyone who
can tell their left from right can understand that.
Oh yeah, don't you dare say the orphanage is a corrupt factor of ours.
You were allies with Bloodloch, the people who -use- the stupid thing.
