Aetolian Council

Greetings All,

The idea has come to me that we, the mortals who inhabit these realms,
have both the imagination, and ability to develop a Council which would
incorporate all of us into a coherent grouping of minds which would act
as a means by which we could all determine the appropraite or necessary
actions by which to improve and make better our realms.

I am not sure the level of feedback I will recieve, as I am almost
certain that the nature of our skills, by which I mean the fact that
most of our abilities as Aetolians are based on violence or conflict,
precludes any sort of universal coordination, but I present this appeal
as a shout against the dying of the light. The logistics of this council
would be discussed based on the feedback I recieve after I write this
post. Below, I am going to include some of my intital thoughts on the
subject, so if you are not interested in what I have so far written, I
apologize for wasting your time, and please carry on.

Many of us have multiple allegiances. In the extreme case, you can be
allied to a city, a guild, a clan, and an order. My initial thought is
to not include orders or clans in this Council as we want this to be an
Aetolian attempt to make things better, and clans are a very difficult
type of organization to include as the criteria for their inclusion
would be difficult to develop.

So, each guild, and each city, would have a representative to this
Council. The number of representatives is another issue, as perhaps we
should take into account the number of active members in each
organization for the purposes of ensuring adequate representation. This
would be decided in the initial phase of the development of the Council.
There would not be a leader per se, but an arbitrator for the Council
who would act as an overseer for the meetings which would take place
regularly so as to put forward new motions concerning issues of
importance. The number of representatives needed in order to put an
issue forward would also be determined during the initial phases of the
development of this Council.

There are many other ideas which could be implemented, so I am looking
forward to feedback. There would of course be regular public postings
concerning the Council's activities, as it is meant for all Aetolians.
If you are curious as to my own qualifications, I was recently the
Guildmaster for the Cabalists, where I saw first hand the need for
coordination in improving an organzation. There are many bright minds in
these realms, so I am looking forward to getting this concept started.
If there is no feedback, then it is what it is, and we can all get back
to making spurious allegations against one another, and utilizing a thin
logic to justify the use of our abilities to attack others. I leave it
up to you all, and may we all be guided to making the right choice.
