Greetings Rolan.

I just read what you did and let me tell you I am quite hurt indeed. As
I remember (Being there that faithful day when my beloved Avi.. was
murdered) the facts were clear, There was Poison in Avi.. drink, the
drink poured by the one and only Maelius. Don't you remember we followed
the path to the Alchemist and the locksmith.. All the clues led to HIM,
He did pour the drink, there was no one else present in that pub, HE
poured the poison in the drink and surved it to my beloved Avi..

To hear you pardon him in such a way with a full appolgy darkens my
heart. I recall he confessed. He had motive, he was losing bussness from
the lack of people lowering there morals to drink, he needed to get rid
of the influence of moral reasoning and so he devised his plot in a
dispictable way.

To just go out and pardon a conviceted person after he runs away is of
the Lowest acts I believe one can do (Right next to stabing someone in
the back or chopping someones head off while they sleep). That sends a
message that if you do something but are able to escape them you are
free and clear, Is that the morals you wish to teach the young people of
Shallam, and the world?

I wasn't there when the trial was in full swing, but was all that for
naught? Was there a referendum after the fact that this dispicable man
who not only had motive but was there at the crime scene (If that
doesn't screem out guilty then why did we give chase to look for clues
that day?).

Rolan I respect you as a person, but I can't respect your decision to
let this horendous man go abouts free, Shallam the Jewel of the East
shouldn't be the first of many horid acts that will beseech it's good
name. Maelius may be hiding, but he is of a man who has one thing in
mind, and he has said it while he confessed "I was loosing money... No
one was buying drinks" Meaning he will search out other pubs and inns,
heck he might be opening one up right now, and whats to stop him from
killing again, isn't the world full of good and bad people, isn't the
world full of just and injustice? You let a murderer go, out in the
world where he can go and challenge morality in other locations, You may
have ridden yourself of his evil, but is it worse to kill someone or let
someone who kills go free?

If you have been investigating the crime and truly believe He is
inocent, since he was the only witness (and again, his hand was the one
who fed Avi..) shouldn't you go and get him back, wouldn't his testomony
of some invisible person who somehow managed to make all the evidence
look like Maelius did indeed kill Avi.. be so important that you would
rather see him Back in Shallam to tell his "Story"?

Either way I beg you find him, if you feel he is inocent then his "True"
heart would tell you no lie and he would help. But as I see it, he is a
lier, a murderer, and a coward, He wouldn't go out willingly he escaped,
is Escaping jail something an inocent person would do? Wouldn't an
inocent person want to tell the story and give evidence.

Ok, I realize I may have been ranting alot here, but if my beloved Avi..
was around he would be able to show you what you missed, Look at the
facts,

Where is Maelius? - Inocent men don't hide
Where is Maelius's explenation of the murder? - Inocent men would tell
the truth.

I hope there is an answer that He and You can agree upon.

In Mourning;
Misty.
