Reality check - A war update for Sapience

Some of you who are not involved in the war may be asking yourself,
"What is going on... this war has been going on forever and what stage
is it at now." As a result, I have scribed a somewhat lengthy post to
bring you up-to-date. Enjoy.

For some reason beyond my understanding, "Reality" is the new euphemism
for that which is all encompassing, that which is Varian. As we are
fully aware, we are bound to reality as it mandates what is and shall
be. Thankfully, reality has gifted us with choice and options. That is,
we may exist as beings upon Sapience, capable of caring for ourselves,
our loved ones, etc.

In light of the recent war with the Alliance against Ashtan, however,
some flaws have been observed and noted within reality. That is, the
Alliance, composed of multiple cities cannot effectively combat a single
foe. Specifically, cities may not share supply lines; troops will not
instantaneously target opposing forces (such that 20 enemy forces can
march past a hoard of 200 opposing forces and not be attacked on sight
yet capture in an adjacent location with no fear unless a commander is
available to mach them); literally speaking, a mere door is capable of
sheltering an entire army behind it and stopping three cities from
piercing it's wooden composition and slaughtering enemy forces that are
housed within; occupation of city results in the occupier have no more
ability than that of controlling shops and libraries; most importantly,
to raze Ashtan, the Alliance must maintain 90% of Ashtan for 1 Aetolian
year... given that 15% of Ashtan can be taken back in 6 days (there are
300 days in 1 Aetolia year) and each time more than 10% is taken back,
the year restarts, the concept of "razing" is a possibly only in the
imagination of a Horkval smoking cactus weed. There are many more but I
believe I have hit the high points.

Given both sides, Ashtan and Alliance, are fully aware of these flaws...
we are left ask ourselves, "What purpose does war serve?" Given the
current "laws" of reality, it is feasibly impossible to raze a city.
Yet, the war continues... it is impossible for the Alliance to ever
declare victory. Hence, the stalemate where the Alliance is capturing
territory for no purpose other than to stop Ashtan from progressing.

For those who were unaware, reality has struck back in this war. As you
may have noticed from above, occupiers of a city have control over
shops. That includes the ability to city lock and city unlock all doors
within a city. After seeking shelter in the bowels of a shop stockroom
one month, Ashtan place their troops within a stockroom. As a result,
the Alliance locked them within (why would you put troops in a room your
foes can lock? I asked myself that too). Given Ashtan had no chance of
"fighting back" because of their bad decision, this door was "magically"
dissolved. Quite literally, the door was there one moment and
disappeared into the air the next. Yet, another door (that of a House)
has been used most of the war to hide these same troops. Sadly, the
Alliance cannot make doors vanish like reality can. The conclusion,
reality deems it acceptable to use doors to keep foes out but not to
trap troops within.

Given the tinkering that has already been done, the Alliance has asked
and pleaded on multiple levels for reality strike back. There are some
serious flaws that could be adjusted (as mentioned above) to balance the
concept and execution of war between cities. We have been denied. Rumors
circulate that reality will not consider such changes "mid-war." It will
not be until the end of this war that reality will adjust flaws on its
behalf.

As stated above, this information is available to "both" sides
(otherwise, I wouldn't be scribing this). Do you, like me, ask yourself,
"Now wait, if one side is able to abuse flaws in reality as long as the
war goes on... why would they consider halting it? Wouldn't it be to
their advantage to keep up the abuse?" If you do, I am sure you can see
that continuing the war to circumvent reality is amusing, perhaps
intelligent, but none-the-less absurd.

I am sure "reality" is fully aware of everything I have said, in fact, I
am counting on it. However, I hope that in the public eye, the concept
of a "reality check" will make more progress than it has behind closed
doors (doors seem to be popular in this war so I figured this was a good
way of putting it). I am tired of playing "hush hush" and I am putting
this all out on the table for everyone to examine and justify.

To Reality:

If you wish for there to be war, then make amends. Else wise, I suggest
making war no longer a possibility. Until war can make sense, it
shouldn't be something that is susceptible to absurd manipulation and
distortion by any party or faction involved.

Cheerio,
Irawn
