Decades ago Lord Varian declared the methods used by RL as illegal. The
fact that Lord Varian needed to make an announce post clarifying it was
because some people seemed to be unable to understand the concepts
therein. The whole of the Alliance knew their actions illegal, Alastra
claimed that RL knew their actions illegal too, so they were either
rather niave, or gambled and lost.

Secondly the ceasefire was broken by the Ashtan Militia capturing
locations. In response the other parties negotiated with each other
resulting in Spinesreach handing over Ashtan, and Bloodloch
re-establishing the supply line that ashtan militia captured when they
broke the ceasefire.
