Again I greet you Sapience,
To Omeg and to Osifer - You both claim that I know little about the
realm of Lady Slyphe. So this is for you...
The ideals of Lady Slyphe begin with three things: Adaptation, Erosion,
and Sustenance. When these three things are mentioned one thing comes to
mind, Water. It will always find a way to get around or through an
obstacle, it will change the landscape making way for new, and it
supports all life.
"Slyphe promotes change and dynamism in the mortal world, both of the
physical world and of stagnant mortal political establishments." - This
is a direct quote from Her help file. I know it well.
However, if I apply Her ideals of change to Ashtan...
Adaptation - constantly reforming its leadership through elections and
delegation, to better suit the needs and opinions of its members (We
JUST had an election where Daelar was elected to Archon, apparently even
in this 'war' the city continues to function in part)
Erosion - new citizens joining, citizens leaving and older leadership
being phased out as new leadership rises
Sustenance - (before the 'war') providing an safe environment where one
could live doing as they chose
The current members have banded together against the tyranny of this
'Alliance' and from reading city posts and listening to CT, one hears
the same thing. "We will not back down. We will not surrender."
Obviously, if we truly did have a stagnant political establishment
wouldn't we embrace change? Those against us may claim that we chose
stagnancy but from what I have seen among those left is the willingness
to fight for their home not out of duty but out of pride.
My father told me as a young child, and this clique still fits, 'Truth
is in the eye of the beholder.' This 'Alliance' sees only what it choses
to see, my citymates and I see something very different. I do not agree
with 'war' and while one side may claim victory, in reality, it is a
political device that costs too much. So to Slyphe and her followers,
may you con yourselves into believing in your 'just war'. I personally
will be staying in Ashtan, biding my time between our confrontations by
wandering the streets I love so well.
In Ashtan I believe, In Ashtan I Stay
