The Mortal Legacy before the Grand Artifice

Zephiris,

Through an Ankyrean, you mortals derive what you know from the time
before the Grand Artifice. Qeddwyn, although quite intelligent and
learned in history, was only really a member of the Conclave of the
Arts, and rarely learned much of the other humans who lived in the
world.

For instance, we do know a little:

We learn from the Syssin, for instance, that a few humans were aligned
with the Ankyreans.

We learn from the story of Rahn that certain mortals were able to
transcend mortality by becoming paragons of virtue. If Ankyreans were
such a dominating force, why has a mortal transcended in previous ages,
but not yet in this one? There are no Ankyreans to dominate the
population.

The history of mortals before the Grand Artifice is extremely rich, and
the history of such groups as the Akurei will eventually surface, I am
sure.

Severn, Lord of Artifice

Penned by my hand on the 10th of Chakros, in the year 121 MA.
