Greetings Aetolia,

I have organized my records a bit and wish to post this piece of history
about that ancient age in which the Akurei and Tenshi existed, in order
to spread a little light about both organizations.


I will also be willing to answer any questions you may have about the
Maer'lin Tenshi, and would say the same for the Akurei Kumiai, but I
somehow doubt they would welcome that.

Below is a basic summary of history, what I have been able to translate
so far from the text...more shall come, in time.

"Long ago, before time is counted as it is today, there where two
dominate forces in Sapience. They maintained the fragile balance within
the realm for a century or more. The Tenshi and the Akurei were bitter
rivals, but they formed a symbiotic relationship with each other and the
natural world. The Tenshi were the ambassadors of light while the Akurei
were the champions of the shadows. They fought and bickered many times
but one could not overcome the other.

One day, with reasons unknown to the Tenshi the attacks upon their
ground ceased, despite constant provocation against the Akurei. Unaware
of what to expect, but planning for the worst, the Tenshi halted their
attacks, granting the realm their first taste of total peace for nearly
three months. The attack came soon, brutal and strong. Akurei swarmed
over Tenshi strongholds, succeeding in killing many but losing an equal
amount. It was then that records show an ominous black cloud darkened
the sky, shooting bolts of lightning about the realm. Creatures nearly
invisible to the mortal eye started to slaughter the Tenshi wherever
they stood. This battle devastated the Tenshi, the remaining survivors
retreating to their stronghold within the Vashnar Mountains.

It was nearly two months idle when Kage, leader of the Akurei,
approached Neros Hikari, leader of the Tenshi, with a proposal to join
together in order to defeat the beasts. It is at that point when it was
revealed that the creatures were beings of the shadow realm, seeking
nothing but destruction in our own. The two opponents allied for the
first, and only, time in their history. The First War of the Shadows had
begun.

After a month of random attacks and counterattacks the word came through
an Akurei spy that there was to be an assault upon a training facility
in Hashan. The two allies worked out a plan of battle, the Akurei
assaulting a conclave of suspected shadow beasts while the Tenshi
surprised a group of beasts waiting outside of the city. The Akurei
easily slew their targets, only discovering after the battle that they
were in fact innocent sapients framed to draw attention away from the
true gathering, the one which was murdering the Tenshi at the very same
time.

The battles were fierce and brutal, few surviving from any side. The
deity ruling the Shadow Realm decided to end the war then and there,
crushing Hashan with a devastating meteor. The remaining Akurei and
Tenshi splintered, single men walking off with the history in their
minds."
