For those of you who don't seem to realize this, it is over!
What have we gotten out of any of it? What have we learned? I hope that
you have all learned the same thing I have learned. That you were wrong.
I learned that many times throughout this conflict.
I don't know what to do now, where to go from here, but I have also
learned that the only life I can lead is my own, and that's okay. So I
am speaking my trivial thoughts, because that is what I do.
The world has changed, but mostly in memory. There was conflict,
conspiracy, loyalty, betrayal. There was beliefs colliding and
challenges flung. The very state of the world, the very perception that
most of us took of it, was challenged. A challenge must be met, but
always with arms? Why not with understanding?
But above all, I have learned something I deem painful, and that is that
nothing is eternal. Nothing lasts. There was no final battle. Not even a
thought of it. Sacrifices were made, and then, in the end, some of us
learned we sacrificed nothing for nothing! Causes were dropped like
petty games, with no real meaning or purpose. I had a belief in
eternity. That something, an idea, a cause, a truth, could be worth
fighting for, dying for, but here I am, alive but barely, and what life
I've lost, has not been for a cause, but for the deaths of causes.
Everything fell to pieces, as though on cue, without a thought.
All I have left to believe in, that can last forever, is eternity
itself. And I will strive to reach it till eternity runs out.
The Eternal Wanderer, Fayea--Guildless, Cityless, Friendless, but not
Hopeless

Penned by my hand on the 24th of Midautumn, in the year 61 MA.
